Talking therapy · Online & by phone
Say it
out loud.
Talk with Zan, an accredited CBT therapist, who listens without judgement, at a pace that suits you. You don't need the right words yet. That's what the sessions are for.
Share how you feel so Zan can read it before your free 15-minute call, or quick book in under a minute.
Where to start
Some things get lighter the moment they're said.
Most people aren't sure therapy is "for them" until they've had a first conversation. Start with a free 15-minute call. There's no pressure to book anything after it.
What we help with
Bring it as it is.
Anxiety is one of the most common things people bring to therapy, and CBT is one of the best-researched ways to help with it.
Anxiety & worry
When the alarm won't switch off.
Anxiety is your body's alarm system. It's meant to keep you safe, but sometimes it goes off when there's no real danger, and keeps going. Thoughts race, your chest tightens, the what-ifs arrive at 3am, and things that used to be easy start to feel like too much.
How CBT helps. Together with Zan you'll notice the thoughts and habits that keep the worry going, test them gently, and practise new ways of responding. Over time the alarm gets quieter, and life gets bigger again.
You might recognise
- Worry or what-ifs you can't put down
- Panic, a racing heart, feeling short of breath
- A mind that won't switch off at night
- Avoiding places, people or tasks
- Feeling on edge, tense or irritable
Zan also helps with
Low mood
Feeling flat, or not quite yourself for a while.
Stress & burnout
Running on empty at work, at home, or both.
Relationships
Conflict, distance, breakups, repeating patterns.
Grief & loss
Losing someone or something, and carrying it.
Self-esteem
A harsh inner voice. Never feeling like enough.
Life changes
New job, new baby, moving on. Even good change unsettles.
How it works
Four steps. You lead each one.

Your first session
Nervous? That's normal.
You set the pace
There's no script. Start with whatever feels easiest, even "I don't know where to begin."
It stays in the room
Sessions are confidential. The rare limits are explained at the start, in plain language.
Ask anything
How therapy works, what the approach is, what happens next.
No commitment
At the end you decide whether to continue. If it doesn't feel right, that's fine.

On Google Meet, from your sofa, your car or your lunch break.

Two CBT tools to keep in your pocket.
S.T.O.P.P.
- SStop. Pause before you react.
- TTake a breath. Slow, and into your belly.
- OObserve. What am I thinking and feeling right now?
- PPull back. Is this fact or opinion? What would I tell a friend?
- PPractise what works. What's the most helpful thing to do next?
Where CBT starts
- 1Ground first. Name five things you can see and feel your feet on the floor.
- 2Remind yourself: this is a memory. It isn't happening now.
- 3Approach one thing you've been avoiding, slowly.
- 4Write down the belief, then the evidence against it.

Common questions
Good to know.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can get in touch directly. If you're already seeing your GP or another service, you're welcome to mention it.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and Zan. The only exceptions are rare situations where someone's safety is at serious risk, and these are explained at your first session.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on you and what you'd like to work on. Some people find a handful helpful; others prefer longer-term support. You can review it at any point.
What if it's not the right fit?
That's okay. The free call lets you get a feel for things first, and you're never tied in after a session.
Is online as good as in person?
Many people find online and phone sessions just as helpful, and easier to fit into life. You can try one and switch later.
How much does it cost?
Fees are explained on your free call before you book anything, so there are no surprises.
